Hi, Pastor Kumm,

Pentecostal greetings in Christ's precious name. Just a few lines to thank you and your Church Council for the generous financial gift sent to purchase food for our congregations within the ELCL. I am very sorry for the delay in getting the rice. This is due to advice from the committee I set up to do the purchasing and distribution. However, the committee was able to buy 30 bags of rice Friday and distribution started Saturday. Attached are the invoices from the store and photos of the rice. Also, a short video footage is also attached. The balance of the money was used to transport the rice from the store and to pay transportation for pastors who have no money to take theirs [that is, to deliver the rice to their members]. When we receive the balance of the funds as promised, we will buy more rice for the people.

Thank you once again for your kindness.

In Christ's service,

Pastor Arthur W. Zogar

Pastor Kumm offered a short media presentation on life in Liberia and updatde the congregation on the progress and plans of Project Pastoral Education West Africa.

Due to the current disruption in global life and travel, the next teaching trip to Liberia is planned for the fall of 2021. The current projected cost of the trip for three LCMS pastors to teach 22 Liberian Lutheran pastors for two weeks is $19,500. A freewill offering will be received.

Along with two other LCMS pastors, Pastor Kumm has thus far made five trips to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Liberia, West Africa. For two weeks each time, the three LCMS pastors encourage and teach over twenty Liberian Lutheran pastors in the areas of Scripture, theology, worship, pastoral care, and church history.

Christ the King Lutheran Church directly supports the ministry and mission work of Rev. Dr. Nicholas Salifu as he serves in northern Ghana in West Africa.  Pastor Salifu personally serves over eleven congregations in his area, and he also serves in training evangelists among the people to spread the Gospel in an ever expanding area.  He has a radio ministry which reaches many unchurched people with excellent results.

Pastor Salifu has established a school for children from first grade through high school, and that school, which began with 12 students, has now grown to over 800 students. The Bible and Luther's Small Catechism are foundational materials used in the school.

Dr. Salifu also serves as chairman of the Board of Regents of the seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana.  The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ghana is a sister church of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, and is the result of LCMS missionary work begun in Ghana over 50 years ago.  We support Pastor Salifu with our prayers, ministry resources, and our gift dollars.
